Coconut Liqueur Recipes

Nalivkas (Fruit Liqueurs)

 
 
Coconut Liqueur
Ingredients
:
2 c Packaged coconut
4 Coriander seeds
1/4 ts Vanilla extract
3 c Vodka
1/2 c Brandy
Instructions:
Add all ingredients together and steep for 3-4 weeks. Turn jar every few days. The coconut tends to be porous and absorbs the alcohol so be sure to thoroughly strain and filter the mixture to yield the largest amount. Natural coconut may also be used, but tends to be watery and requires more coconut.
Colada Liqueur
Ingredients:

2 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 cups fresh grated coconut
1 split vanilla bean
1 cups fresh pineapple chunks
3 or 4 cups light rum
Instructions:
Start by making a simple syrup. Adjust temp of syrup to low and add coconut and vanilla. Simmer a few minutes (4 or 5). Allow to cool and add pineapple and rum. Age for a month and strain. Press juice from pineapple and other solids. Age for 1 or 2 more months and head off sailing.
