Coffee Liqueur Recipes

Nalivkas (Fruit Liqueurs)

 
 
Dad's Tia Maria Liqueur
Ingredients:

1 3/4 ounces instant coffee
9 cups water
6 cups sugar
2 ounces pure vanilla extract
1 3/4 pints of 190 proof ethyl alcohol
Instructions:
Steep 1 3/4 ounces of instant coffee in 4 cups of boiling water. Make a syrup by putting 6 cups of sugar in 5 cups of boiling water- allow to cool- then add 2 ounces of pure vanilla extract. Mix syrup with coffee mixture then add 1 3/4 pints of 190 proof ethyl alcohol (Everclear). Let cool.
Coffee Flavored Liqueur
Ingredients:

4 cups white sugar
2 cups boiling water
2 oz. instant coffee
1 Pint vodka
1 vanilla bean cut into small pieces
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a half gallon jar. Shake 2-3 times per week for one month. Strain for vanilla bean pieces before serving. Makes approximately 1 1/2 pints.
Coffee Liqueur
Ingredients:

3 oz (by weight) Medium to dark roast coffee, finely ground
2 3/4 cups Vodka, 80 proof
3/4 cups Brandy, 80 proof
4 tsp Good quality instant coffee
1 Tbl Vanilla extract
1 tsp Chocolate extract
1 tsp Glycerine (at most pharmacies)
1 drop Red food colouring, optional
7/8 cups Distilled water
1 3/4 cups Granulated sugar
Instructions:
Place the ground coffee in a large wide-mouthed glass bottle. Add the vodka and the brandy. Allow the mixture to sit approximately 18 to 20 hours. Use coffee filters to remove the coffee from the alcohol, discard the spent grounds. Add the instant coffee, the extracts, the glycerine, and the food colour to the mixture. Set aside. In a scrupulously clean pan, boil the water. Add the sugar, stirring rapidly. When the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat. Allow the sugar syrup to return to room temperature. Add the syrup to the alcohol mixture. Store in a tightly capped glass bottle. The liqueur is better when aged for 3 or more months.
Kahlua Liqueur
Ingredients:

3 Cups sugar
2 Cups water
6 Tbs. Dry instant Coffee
1/2 Cup water
Fifth of Vodka
2 Tbs. Vanilla extract
Instructions:
Make a simple syrup with sugar and water, bring mixture to a boil allow to boil for 20 minutes. At same time mix coffee with 1 cup water and bring to a boil. Allow both to cool. In a gallon container add fifth of vodka and all other ingredients.
 
Coffee Liqueur Based on Ordinary Coffee
Ingredients:

2 cups (4.8 dl) coffee of British type
1 1/4 cup (3 dl) sugar
2 cups vodka (50-60% or 100-120 proof)
1/2 vanilla bean split lengthwise
Instructions:
Make a fresh brew of strong coffee (ordinary American coffee is too diluted!) Add the sugar. After cooling, add the vanilla bean and vodka. Transfer to a bottle. After 2-4 weeks strain, remove the vanilla bean and transfer to a new bottle.
Coffee Liqueur Based on Instant Coffee
Ingredients:

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup instant coffee
2 cups vodka
1/2 vanilla bean split lengthwise or 1 tbs vanilla powder or 1 tbs vanilla extract
Instructions:
Dissolve the instant coffee in 1 cup of hot water. Dissolve the sugar, and add vodka. Also add the vanilla. If you are using a vanilla bean, remove it after 2-4 weeks.
Coffee Liqueur Based on Espresso Coffee
Ingredients:
1 cup (2.4 dl) espresso coffee (or strong South American coffee)
1 cup sugar
2 cups vodka (40-50% or 80-100 proof)
1/2 vanilla bean split lengthwise
Instructions:
Make a fresh brew of espresso coffee or strong coffee of a similar type. Add the sugar. After cooling, add the vanilla bean and vodka. Transfer to a bottle. After 2-4 weeks strain, remove the vanilla bean and transfer to a new bottle.
Vanilla-Coffee Liqueur 1
Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
1 cup granulated sugar
2 cups water
1/2 cup instant coffee powder
3 cups vodka
1/2 vanilla bean, split or 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions:
Combine sugars and water. Boil for 5 minutes. Gradually stir in coffee. Cool. Add vodka and vanilla and mix thoroughly. Cover and let ripen for 1 month. Remove vanilla bean. Makes 5 cups.
Vanilla-Coffee Liqueur 2
Ingredients:

4 cups water
4 cups sugar
2 oz good instant coffee
1 vanilla bean
1 Fifth Cheap Bourbon (that's a 750 ml bottle)
Instructions:
Simmer water, sugar, and coffee until the sugar dissolves. Put vanilla bean and bourbon in a gallon jug and add the coffee syrup you just prepared. Cover and let sit one month.
