Rhubarb Schnapps Recipe

Nastoykas (Tinctures)

 
 
Rhubarb Vodka 1
Ingredients:

1 Litre of vodka
2 Sticks of ripe rhubarb
A bottle of champagne
Zest of half a lemon
3 Cloves
A cinnamon stick
A tablespoon of sugar
Instructions:
Mash up the rhubarb and stick it in a jar for a few days to sweat it out. Open the jar, stick in the cloves, cinnamon, sugar and cover generously with vodka. Leave for about 28 days but shake it regularly.
Rhubarb Vodka 2
Ingredients:

600 g fresh rhubarb, chopped
300 g sugar
1 litre vodka
Instructions:
Put lids on jars. Shake jars. Now hide those jars away in a dark cupboard somewhere. Give them a shake once a week or so, or when you remember. After 6-8 weeks, try this stuff. The rhubarb pieces will look lovely in your vodka, but you want to strain them out. If you don't strain them out, they'll eventually turn greyish, and the colour of your vodka won't be nearly as pretty.
